First Patients Dosed With Papzimeos: A Historic Milestone for the RRP Community

We are thrilled to share that the first patients have now received doses of Papzimeos, marking an extraordinary milestone for individuals and families affected by recurrent respiratory papillomatosis. This moment has been years in the making and reflects the power of persistent advocacy, research, and patient voices.

From the earliest days of drug development, the Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis Foundation has worked alongside researchers, clinicians, regulators, and industry partners to ensure that the lived experiences of RRP patients were heard and valued. RRPF has elevated patient stories, supported clinical research, engaged with the FDA, and helped sustain momentum toward a therapy that could finally change the treatment landscape beyond repeated surgeries.

As this long-awaited chapter begins, RRPF President Kim McClellan reflects on what this moment truly means for the community:

“Today is an extraordinary and deeply emotional moment for everyone living with recurrent respiratory papillomatosis. For so long, families have endured the heartbreak of watching their loved ones struggle to breathe, to speak, and to live freely, with surgery after surgery as the only option. The news that the first patients have now been dosed with Papzimeos feels like a long-awaited turning point. This is more than a medical step forward, it is hope made real. It is a reminder that this community has not been forgotten, and that we are finally moving toward a future where RRP no longer controls every breath, every word, and every day.”
Kim McClellan, President, RRPF

This is not the end of the journey. It is a powerful step forward, made possible by the courage of patients, families, and advocates who never stopped pushing for change.
