Clinical Trial: Pembrolizumab and Lenvatinib for RRP With Pulmonary Involvement
The Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis Foundation is pleased to share news of an important clinical trial opportunity for adults diagnosed with RRP who have pulmonary involvement. This non-randomized pilot study, led by Principal Investigator Sarah Pai, M.D., Ph.D., is investigating a combination immunotherapy approach that may offer new options for managing this challenging condition.
About the Study
This trial is designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of combining two medications — pembrolizumab and lenvatinib — in patients with RRP that has spread to the lungs. The study plans to enroll 20 adult participants who will receive:
Pembrolizumab 200 mg administered every 3 weeks
Lenvatinib 20 mg taken daily
What Participants Can Expect
Participants will be closely monitored throughout the trial with regular evaluations including:
Clinic visits every 3 weeks (plus or minus 3 days) for those with laryngeal involvement, featuring video-recorded flexible laryngoscopy examinations to assess clinical response
CT scans of the chest every 4 cycles (approximately every 12 weeks) to measure treatment response using established RECIST 1.1 criteria
Quality of life questionnaires to help researchers understand how this treatment compares to standard care options from the patient perspective
Who May Be Eligible
This study is open to adult men and women who have been diagnosed with recurrent respiratory papillomatosis with pulmonary involvement.
